Hello! I want to make you aware of a really fun monthly lunch. It’s a neat concept that my friend, news anchor Loren Halifax, and I created. It’s also REALLY simple and helps so many!
The gist/the story/the once upon a time:
A little over a year ago I asked my good friend Larry Kime, owner of Bonefish Grill in Leawood, if he would provide a group of ladies free lunch once a month so we could network with one another, support SAFEHOME and hear phenomenal speakers share their motivational (and usually very humorous and inspiring!) stories. Of course he said yes; he’s a great guy.
THEN I asked my friend Gail of Gail’s Harley Davidson if she’d support our lunch with a donation to Loren’s chosen charity in order to kick off our plan and help women immediately get the treatments they needed. Gail is amazing. Duh. Done deal.
SO… Loren and I reached out to our charity and said, “Hey! If we get a group of ladies to come have a free lunch and chat and giggle and learn about each others’ businesses and hear great speakers, and if each of us pays just $20 for two hours of enlightenment, can we GIVE THE DONATION YOU?
And so Linking Women was born. And as all children do… it grew. We added a few more sponsors, Like TownePlace Suites by Marriott.
I’m inviting you to join us this week, and every month, for Linking Women for SAFEHOME benefit lunch at Bonefish Grill in Leawood! As always, a rep from SAFEHOME will be there to share updated info on their most immediate needs. The shelter is currently over filled. Holidays cause stress and the need for a safe place for endangered women always increases at this time of the year. Your donation really goes a long way!
